Today, the Fitbit Surge which is the company’s premium fitness tracker has gained a few new features and enhancements via a software update. One of the new additions is the ability to track outdoor cycling and also have the ability to use multiple Fitbit devices on one account and switch band per activity if needed. The idea behind this being you could use on Fitbit for work and then other one for tracking runs and workouts.

With Multi-device, Fitbit will allow up to six devices to be associated with one account. The companion app on the iPhone or Android phone will still log the steps taken and calories burnt.

As the Fitbit Surge features GPS, unlike the Apple Watch it doesn’t need a phone to be carried around to build a better picture of the distance covered.

The new bike-tracking and multi-device feature will be available in America by April with other countries soon after.
