Apple has just confirmed that as of writing, iOS 13 is now running on over half of iPhones, which is showing rapid adoption of the new operating system. iOS 13 was released to the public for download just over a month ago now on September 19th.

On Apple’s Developer support page, where this info was submitted – Apple has outlined in a pie chart what devices introduced in the last four years are now using what operating system as well as what devices overall use what versions of iOS.

Apple has said that out of all the devices released in the last four years, 55% now use iOS 13

The above pie chart is impressive, that exactly half of all the iPhones that are out and running in the wild, 50% of those are on iOS 13. Considering that this year, Apple dropped support for iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 – this is good going.

iOS 13

iOS 13 has had a fair amount of issues, since the original 13.0 release, a number of updates and bug fixes have been issued with the current version sitting at 13.1.3

But these issues don’t seem to have slowed user adoption down, this years release is a compelling one with Dark Mode, Apple Arcade, HomeKit improvements and of course all of the performance improvements.
