Android 11 will have wireless Android Auto support for the majority of phones

Once Google has fully released Android 11, the support for wireless Android Auto will be greater as Google has made some necessary changes to allow it. Wireless Android Auto was launched quite a while ago, back in 2018 but only a couple of phones supported it, notably Nexus and Pixel users and then later on Samsung supported it too on high end models.

With Android 11, support will be rolled out however it only works over 5GHz, only some older phones only support 2.4GHz and some low end, budget Android phones so the majority of users will be able to take advantage.

Currently, only a few car manufactures support wireless Android Auto – whereas support for wireless CarPlay has been around for a while and support from car manufactures is rolling out, with Volkswagen supporting it on the latest Golf 8.
