Škoda has launched its very first electric vRS model, geared towards performance. The vRS brand has been around a for a long time and is Škoda’s equivalent to Volkswagen’s GTI performance brand, with VW now using the GTX name for its performance electric cars.

The new Enyaq Coupe iV vRS has a dual motor system with 295bhp, with a 0-60mph time of 6.5 seconds. Top speed here is 111mph and it’ll be able to deliver 460Nm of torque. Škoda has said that this focus on performance has not had an effect on the range and efficiency, the Enyaq will be able to charge quickly from 150kW rapid charging with a range of 309 miles.

The new Enyaq is on sale now in the UK, with prices starting at £51,885. First deliveries to customers will be in July later this year.

To help make the vRS model stand out, Škoda has lowered it by 15mm at the front and by 10mm at the back, there are also new 20-inch alloy wheels, lower front bumper as well as a new Crystal Face grille, which has 131 LEDs inside.

On the inside, there is a panoramic sunroof, heated leather sports seats, aluminium pedals, LED ambient lighting and carbon-fibre effect trim panels. Also new is a 5.3-inch drivers display and a massive 13-inch infotainment screen, with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto supported. Like other electric VW products, the Enyaq works with over-the-air updates which allows Škoda to fix any software issues and add features throughout the cars life.
