Following the launch of its own Studio Display earlier this week, Apple has now removed the listing for the 27-inch LG UltraFine 5K display from its online store. However, the smaller 23.7-inch 4K model remains for the price of $699 (£530) in the US, the screen isn’t even offered here in the UK from Apple direct.

Apple and LG originally closely worked together on the two UltraFine displays, with a 5K display, 500 nits of brightness and a P3 wide colour gamut. To connect your Mac, all that is needed is a single Thunderbolt 3 cable, the display can even charge up most MacBooks too.

However, since Apple now has its own 27-inch Studio Display, which has a 5K Retina display, as well as 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Centre Stage for video calls and the same quality microphones and speakers found in the latest iMac and MacBooks. The Studio Display is priced at $1,599 / £1,499 whereas the 5K UltraFine is $1,299 (£990).

LG has the 5K UltraFine listed on its own website, however it is showing as out of stock. There is not any information whether or not it has been discontinued or if there are any supply issues.
