Jaguar Land Rover has revealed the pricing, engines and specifications for the new Range Rover Sport. The new SUV will be a highly important car for the company and the new model takes the range to the next level, with more power, improved technology and more economical. As of Tuesday this week, the latest Range Rover Sport is on sale now in the UK, with prices starting at £79,125. First deliveries to customers will start later this year.

The new Range Rover Sport will be manufactured at the company’s factory in Solihull, alongside the brand new Range Rover flagship model. The new car has the same modern touches that have been made to the larger car, with a more minimalist design throughout. Dimensionally, the new car is even larger than the outgoing model, with 75mm added to the wheelbase which helps improve interior space.

On the outside, the LED headlights have been made slimmer and new flush-fitting door handles, just like what you’d find on the Range Rover Velar.

Stepping inside, the dash has been bathed in an expanse of leather with a large 13.1-inch infotainment screen sitting in the middle. However, moving on from the design of the Velar, JLR has at least opted to move the heating, ventilation and driving controls back to physical buttons and dials. The screen has the latest Pivi Pro system built in, with support for Amazon Alexa and over the air updates for the car’s operating system.

In terms of engines, there is to be one petrol and two diesel six-cylinder choices, both will have 48v mild hybrid system. At the top of the range is a 4.4-litre V8 with 523bhp, capable of taking the Range Rover Sport from 0-60mph in just 4.3 seconds.

JLR is also working on an all electric Range Rover Sport, but it won’t be coming until 2024.
