Peugeot has announced that the all new 408 will be shown off at the upcoming Paris Motor Show, which is taking place at the end of October 2022. This will be the first time that the new model will be show off to the public. Peugeot is also saying the all electric e-408 is to follow later, it is unclear at this time if the company is planning on showing off the all electric model at the show.

The Paris Motor Show is taking place later next month between Monday 17th October and Sunday 23rd October.

Peugeot is placing the 408 between the 508 hatchback and the larger 3008 SUV, with more of a taller saloon car look. The rear does look like an SUV however. The 408 will have pure combustion engines on offer ad well as some plug in hybrid options too. Later on, the all electric e-408 will be available.

Starting off the range is a 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine, with 128bhp. However, Peugeot has said that this will be soon replaced in 2023, with a full hybrid version. Initially, the company will be offering some hybrid options with 178bhp and 222bhp options, both of these will use a larger 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 12.4kWh battery pack.

The upcoming e-408 will have a 54kWh battery pack and have a very reasonable 248 mile range. Charging will be fast, as it supports 100kW DC charging and will be able to go from 20-40% in 25 minutes.

The new 408 will go on sale later this year but pricing has not yer been announced.
