Dacia is planning on launching a new hybrid version of its budget orientated, seven-seat MPV. The new Jogger was revealed in September 2021 and then went up for pre-order a few months later, in December 2021. While the Jogger is all about maximising what it can do and how many people it can carry for a set price, Dacia is planning on launching a new hybrid version in 2023.

The standard combustion only Jogger is on sale now in the UK, with prices starting at £16,645. It has seven seats, and a surprising amount of room for the cost. The hybrid Jogger will be the first electrified Dacia, when it launches in 2023. Dacia does already have a fully electric car on sale in Europe, with the Spring. This small EV should come to the UK at some stage, while the company works through its order backlog in Romania and France.

At the moment, the Jogger is only available with a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine. It has 108bhp and 200Nm of torque. No automatic version is available, only a six speed manual gearbox. When the Jogger goes hybrid, it will have the same setup as the Renault Clio hybrid. The Clio has a 1.6-litre petrol engine, with a 1.2kWh battery pack. Dacia have said that the Jogger Hybrid will probably spent 80% of its driving time running on pure EV, when used in city and town environments.

No word yet on prices for the Jogger Hybrid, but expect to pay a bit above the base £16,645 price. We expect around £20,000, depending on trim level. The new Jogger Hybrid is due to launch sometime in 2023.
