In a recent survey from Yonder, which consisted 12,000 drivers it was determined that one in three of them felt that cyclists should be banned from using public roads and instead, restricted to using cycle paths. One in three also felt that too much funding is being put into cycling infrastructure.
Out of the 12,000 people who participated in the survey, seven in ten said that cyclists should need insurance to ride on the road.
The survey was conducted before a recent programme on the BBC, titled ‘Road Rage: Cars v Bikes’ which is part of the BBC Panorama series. The 29 minute episode looked at the divide in opinions between road users, especially cyclists.
