The all new Hummer EV is pretty much sold out for the next two years, according to GMC Global VP Duncan Aldred. GM has more than 90,000 reservations for the new vehicle, but has only made 2,570 in the first nine months of 2022. 700 units were made in September alone, which showed an increase.
The GMC Hummer EV has 1,000bhp and 11,500lb ft of torque. Range is rated at 329 miles, with 0-60mph handled in just 3.3 seconds.
Like everyone, General Motors has been having issues with its supply chain – so much so that it has had to downgrade its goals for EV sales. GM did have an initial goal to deliver 400,000 electric vehicles in North America by 2023. GM does have enough orders to hit this target, it just can’t make enough of them.
To meet the demand, GM has opened up a new factory in Ohio to produce Ultium Cells. However, for the whole of November GM has paused Hummer EV production while the factory undergoes upgrades.
Back in July, GM started having issues with production. At that time, the company was only making 12 Hummer EVs per day.
