Volkswagen is planning on using more recycled materials in its line of electric cars. So far, the company has used a lot of recycled materials in the ID. Buzz and pretty soon, this will be rolled out in the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5 and the ID.7.

In the current ID. Buzz, Volkswagen uses 63 500 ml PET bottles, or in some cases a lot of recycled ocean plastic. At the very start of the ID.3 release, some elements of the car were using animal materials, but it is good to see the company moving away from that as time goes on.

In the Buzz, the seat covers use a material called ArtVelours Eco which is a combination of recycled polyester, latex and jute. The headliner and floor coverings use 100% recycled polyester and the carpet also uses recycled plastics too.

Volkswagen has also said that some of the innovations seen with the ID.Buzz will be brought to the ID.3, ID.4, ID.5, and ID.7. Hopefully VW will provide more information soon.
