Apple releases watchOS 7 for Apple Watch

Apple releases watchOS 7 for Apple Watch

Yesterday, Apple has released watchOS 7 for the Apple Watch Series 3 and later, bringing sleep tracking, hand washing detection, new watch faces, family setup, more workouts and much more.

We covered all the new features in depth back in June after WWDC.

Can my watch run watchOS 7?

watchOS 7 runs on the Apple Watch Series 3 and later, so if you happen to have an older Series 2 then you won’t get the new features. You also need to update to iOS 14 first, in order to update your watch first.

These watches can run watchOS 7:

  • Apple Watch Series 3
  • Apple Watch Series 4
  • Apple Watch Series 5
  • Apple Watch SE
  • Apple Watch Series 6

You can update by going to the Apple Watch app > General > Software Update or by going to Settings on your Apple Watch > General > Software Update
