Apple Pay coming to China, with UnionPay

Apple pay has now been out for over a year now, in the US at least and here in the UK since July and Apple doesnt seem to standing still, the payment service is now coming to China ealry next year – following Apple breaking the news this week.

“Apple Pay has revolutionized the way millions of people pay every day with their iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “China is an extremely important market for Apple and with China UnionPay and support from 15 of China’s leading banks, users will soon have a convenient, private and secure payment experience.”

Apple Pay in China will work with UnionPay Quickpass, which is an existing payments service. A rumour has been circluating which puts the release at February 8th 2016.
