Chery has many subsidiary brands, with Omoda, Jaecoo, iCar (iCaur outside of China), Exceed, Lepas and many more. However, one of its more recent companies is Fulwin, which was launched in 2023. This more premium marque focuses on electric and electrified vehicles and a few of them have been exported to other countries and rebranded. These include the Jaecoo J6 and the Jaecoo J7, both of which are Chery Fulwin models that have been exported, at least for the PHEV variants.

Chery has recently put the new Fulwin T7 electric SUV on sale in China, after the group launched it in various worldwide markets as the Lepas L6 EV. The domestic specifications have changed slightly, compared to what will be offered in the UK with the Lepas L6 EV later this year.

The practically identical Chery Fulwin T7 EV is now on sale in China priced from 109,900 yuan, which works out to be just a tad over £12,000. As mentioned, the spec has changed slightly. So with the Lepas model it will feature a 67kWh battery, good for 257 miles of range, whereas the Fulwin uses a 65.05kWh LFP battery with 372 miles of range, although this is based on the CLTC test cycle, which is notoriously not that real world.

One thing that has changed though, is most of the interior. Lepas to date has been using portrait screens, like we have seen on the Jaecoo 5 and Jaecoo 7. Although this Fulwin uses a landscape screen, with some notable differences around the centre air-vents and wireless phone chargers pads. Although the thin driver display and steering wheel shape has been kept the same.

We're due to see more about the Lepas L6 EV and PHEV later this year in the UK.
