Apple Pay launches today in Austria

Apple is still on a roll, with rolling out support for Apple Pay in new countries. With 250 million estimated users as of last year, the demand is there for new banks, card companies and countries.

Now today, Apple has rolled out support for Apple Pay in Austria with initial support from Erste Bank und Sparkasse – which is the largest bank in the country as well as N26, which is a German bank similar to Monzo here in the UK, as in its a mobile first bank.

Other banks

Initially, the two partners are Erste Bank und Sparkasse and N26. maestro, mastercard and Visa are the card companies which are compatible too. Apple has said that Bank Austria, boon., Edenred, Revolut and Vim Pay will be aded later on. For now, they are marked as “coming soon.”
