Apple releases iOS 14 for iPhone and iPod touch

Apple releases iOS 14 for iPhone and iPod touch

Today Apple has released iOS 14 for iPhone, iPod touch bringing App Library, new widgets, App Clips, improved Apple Maps and much, much more. Apple usually releases new iOS updates at 10am PT / 6pm BST but today it was a few hours later, which seemed to spark a lot of complaining on Twitter, even though Apple never says what time it will arrive.

We covered all the new features in depth back in June after WWDC, but the main highlights are new widgets for the home screen, improvements to the Messages app, new cycling directions in Maps, improvements to the Home app, CarPlay and more.

Can my phone run iOS 14?

Most likely! iOS 14 runs on all the same devices that ran iOS 13 from last year, iPhone 6s and later and the iPod touch 7th generation are all supported.
