Apple releases public betas for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura and watchOS 9

Apple releases public betas for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura and watchOS 9

Apple has today released the new public betas for iOS 16, iPadOS 16, macOS Ventura and watchOS 9. Up until now the new versions of the operating systems have only been available to registered developers. To access the new public betas you’ll need to register for the Apple Beta Software Program and follow the instructions.

It must be said that these operating systems are still very much in beta and it is a few months away from being ready for the general public in a non beta capacity. There may be some bugs that Apple has not yet found and fixed, so backup your device before installing any beta software. In case you change your mind, Apple has made it easy to remove the profile from your device.

All the operating systems have a slew of new features, with an overhauled multitasking mode for the iPad, the ability to edit Messages for iMessage and much more.

iOS 16 needs an iPhone 8 or later.
