BYD Seagull

The BYD Seagull, which is otherwise known as the Dolphin Mini in some other markets, has won the 2025 World Urban Car of the year at the New York International Auto Show last week. The judging process was conducted by 96 automotive journalists from 30 different countries.

BYD sells the car in China for 69,800 yuan, which works out to be just £7,218 when coverted to GBP. Its also available with the choice of two batteries, 30.1kWh or 38.9kWh, offering up to 405km of CLTC range (251 miles).

Inside, you get a 12.8-inch rotating infotainment screen with heated front seats, USB ports and a whole host of safety features.
