HP’s new 2-in-1 has USB-C

Last week, HP unveiled its new 2-in-1 laptop, the HP Pavilion X2 2015. This new device has a new design as well as a new processor. Most of what is included is the same as last years edition, with the magnetic hinge that transfers the device from notebook to tablet. Like Lenovo’s range of laptops, the Pavilion X2 can fold back to 360 degrees and has tent and stand functions. HP has also included a keyboard which can detach to transform the device into a tablet.

What’s boxed in?

The included keyboard has 1.5mm of key travel and a touchpad. Also the device has the new USB Type-C connector we have seen in the new MacBook and the Nokia N1 tablet. The HP Pavilion has a 10-inch display HD IPS, B&O front facing cameras, webcam and a long battery life of 11-hours. The x2 also has a microSD card slot, micro HDMI connector as well as USB 2.9 port and a USB Type-C port.

In terms of the processor, HP haven’t mentioned what type of Intel Atom processor that the Pavilion X2 will have, but it has 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

Launching…

The HP Pavilion X2 will launch on July 29, the same day as Windows 10 for £250. The x2 comes with Windows 10 on launch day as well as a one year subscription to Office 365, which has 60 minutes of Skype calls and 1TB of OneDrive.
