The Hyundai i10 has been on sale in the UK since 2008 and has been the company's smallest car on sale to date. However, back in November 2025 the company decided to stop production of the car to free up capacity for new EVs at its factory in Turkey.
For now, no official i10 replacement has been mentioned, which if something was planned, it would be highly unlikely to make its way to the UK, due to stricter emissions regulations and the ever growing EV market.
While nothing has been said by Hyundai publicly regarding the i10, we asked Hyundai UK for an official statement regarding the city car in the UK:
“As part of its electrification strategy, Hyundai discontinued production of the Hyundai i10 at Hyundai Motor Türkiye (HMTR) in November 2025 to create capacity for upcoming EV production. Other compact ICE models continue to be built at the plant to meet ongoing market demand. UK sales of i10 will continue whilst stock is available.
While there are currently no announcements regarding a direct successor to the i10, Hyundai’s new INSTER offers a practical and efficient option for customers looking for an electric alternative in the compact segment and the recently updated i20 offers advanced technology and an efficient ICE powertrain within a compact footprint.”
Not many pure combustion hatchbacks are left for sale in the UK, with Hyundai's sister brand Kia still offering the Picanto which doesn't have a hybrid option. Elsewhere is the new Grande Panda which is set to have a petrol only variant in the UK as well as the new range of hybrid hatchbacks, such as the Fiat 500 Hybrid and Toyota Aygo X.
As for other models in the Hyundai range, the company is recommending the Inster, which is now the smallest car the company sells in the UK or the larger i20.
While production ended in November, dealers around the UK still have stock on hand of brand new examples - as well as used and pre-registered too.
