“iPhone 6s” Apple event confirmed for September 9

The Apple event which is supposed to have the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus as well as new iPads and Apple TV gas now been confirmed for September 9, which is a Wednesday for the first time, as earlier today Apple sent out invites for the press conference. The event is expected to see Apple unveil the next generation iPhone as well as new iPads and Apple TV.

Apple is supposedly going to unveil the rumoured iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus which is going to have stronger aluminium similar to the Apple Watch Sport as well as Force Touch and more RAM. Other rumours have suggested that it will have a “greatly improved” camera with 12MP and more lenses.

After a few years without receiving an update, the Apple TV may finally receive an update as the last revision was back in 2013 with the A5 chip. The next version which was expected to be released at the Apple Watch event earlier in the year and then again at WWDC 2015, but that never happened. This new model may actually catch up with the Amazon Fire TV by adding voice search and the invite may be hinting towards Siri being added to the Apple TV. Also a new processor and a touch remote may be added, as rumoured in June.

As usual, Apple will be releasing new software versions with iOS 9 and for the first time watchOS 2. iOS 9 adds many features including public transport and the proactive assistant.

The event will be taking place in a few weeks on September 9 at 10am PT and 6pm BST. You can expect full coverage and live tweeting from the event.
