macOS Big Sur will be available this Thursday

Today at the “One more thing” event, Apple announced M1, its new Mac specific chip which is replacing Intel in Macs, new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and new Mac mini – but they also spoke about macOS Big Sur, the upcoming update to the Mac operating system. Apple announced it’ll be launching this week on the 12th November.

macOS Big Sur brings a lot of design changes to the Mac, the classic dock has been redesigned with new icons, apps have a streamlined design with more space. Control centre and notification from iOS has been brought over which will make things easier to find.

macOS Big Sur will run on:

  • MacBook – 2015 and later
  • MacBook Air – 2013 and later
  • MacBook Pro – Late 2013 and later
  • Mac mini – 2014 and later
  • iMac – 2014 and later
  • iMac Pro all models
  • Mac Pro – 2013 and later
