Last week, smart home accessory manufacturer Nanoleaf announced some new products which are compatible with Matter. The new smart home standard Matter builds on the wireless networking standard Thread and allows accessories in the home to be used between all the smart home platforms, including HomeKit, Google Assistant and Alexa. As of iOS 16.1, Apple has been supporting Matter.

Nanoleaf did release some bulbs a little while back that were compatible with Thread, but it seems that those wont be compatible with Matter once it goes live. Instead, the company has released new hardware, including the A19, GU10 and BR30 bulbs and the new Lightstrip.

Now that Nanoleaf supports Matter and Thread, the devices can be used with HomeKit, Google Assistant and Alexa without the need of a dedicated hub. Thread radios are integrated into HomePod mini, Apple TV 4K, Alexa devices and more.

The new Essentials Smart Bulbs and Lightstrips from Nanoleaf will go on sale early next year, with prices ranging from $20-$100 in the US.
