New electric Vauxhall Astra-e to launch in 2023

New electric Vauxhall Astra-e to launch in 2023

Vauxhall put the new Astra on sale here in the UK last November, but unlike the Corsa – there hasn’t been an all electric model available from launch. However, Vauxhall is getting ready to launch the new Astra-e in 2023, with plug-in hybrid version being made available first.

As a company, Vauxhall is working on launching electric versions of each car in its lineup by 2024, with the entire Vauxhall product line to be made fully electric by 2028. So far, Vauxhall has a few models on sale in pure electric form, with the Corsa-e and Mokka-e as well as the Combo-e, Vivaro-e and the Movano-e vans.

With the Astra-e, Vauxhall will be making a standard hatchback version available and a Sports Tourer estate.

There will be two battery packs available, with 60kWh and 100kWh packs. That platform will have the ability to have ranges up to 434 miles. Based on what Peugeot is doing with the e-308, it’ll have a 54kWh pack with 154bhp and 250 miles of range.
