Nintendo is closing down the eShop for 3DS and Wii U

Nintendo is closing down the eShop for 3DS and Wii U

Nintendo is going to be closing down the eShop for the 3DS and Wii U next year in March 2023. This will mean a few things will start to set in motion, for example from 23rd May 2022, users will not be able to add any funds to the account and then from 29th August 2022 Nintendo eShop cards can not be topped up.

All download codes can however, be redeemed up until March 2023. Even after March 2023, Nintendo will allow for games and DLCs to be re-downloaded, receive software updates and play online on the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.
