The original Super Mario Bros game was launched in Japan back in 1985 which is now thirty five years ago and to mark the anniversary it has been reported that Nintendo would be planning remastering a selection of classic Mario games for the Nintendo Switch.

According to Video Games Chronicle, who has had multiple stories surrounding this, Nintendo will be remastering many of the classic Mario games for the Switch, including Super Mario 64 from 1997, Super Mario Sunshine from 2002 and Super Mario Galaxy from 2007.

Also according to Video Games Chronicle, Nintendo were planning on holding an event at E3 later this year in June, but obviously due to the ongoing coronavirus health pandemic, E3 was cancelled earlier in March.

Nintendo was approached for comment by Video Games Chronicle, but simply responded to them and said “does not comment on rumour and speculation.”

We’ll have to see what Nintendo launches later this year, if anything at all. But for Nintendo Switch fans and Mario fans, this would be fun to see the old games remastered.
