Raspberry Pi 3 now has built in WiFi

Raspberry Pi 3 now has built in WiFi

In just four short years, the Raspberry Pi has successfully made a name for its self, partly to do with the low cost of under £30 but that isn’t all it is also incredibly versatile and useful. Loads of schools in the UK and the US have made uses for this in the IT ciriclum to help teach robotics, programming and more. But now the company is back with the the 3rd version of the Raspberry Pi and this time the changes are big, gone is the 32 bit 900Mhz processor, we now have a full 1.2Ghz ARM processor, all for a small price of £30.

The Raspberry Pi is said to be at least 50 percent faster than before thanks to the new ARM Cortext A53 chip which runs a lot faster at 1.2GHz. The 3rd version has the same amount of RAM, 1GB but that is also clocked faster than before jumped from 450Mhz to 900Mhz. But the biggest news is that the board now has built in 802.11n WiFi and the latest and greatest version of Bluetooth, 4.1.

The Raspberry Pi 3 is now available for £30 or $35.
