Samsung launches new Note 5

Samsung launches new Note 5

Yesterday afternoon, Samsung unveiled a few new smartphones including a new Galaxy Note 5. It can be argued that Samsung started the phablet market, so these devices are important for the company, popularity grew with the launch of the original Galaxy Note and now companies are offering a large phone as an option. The company has has actually announced two phones; the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 Edge+.

Taking Note

The Galaxy Note 5 is an update to the phone that started the phablet revolution off and the new model is a lot more powerful and better quality, which is something that Samsung is focusing on lately, it is manufactured out of metal and glass and looks great.
Samsung seems to have learnt a lot from the S6 as this shares a lot of the design and materials with that phone.
Both theS6 Edge+ and Note 5 are about the same internally with a Samsung octal-coreExynos 7420 running at 2.1GHz at four cores, this also has a huge 4GB RAM. One thing that might upset Note fans is that the 3,000mAh battery is also sealed in, like theS6 – but it has wireless charging. The phone comes in two storage options: 32GB and 64GB – there isn’t a 128GB option. The screen is a 5.7-inch QHD SuperAMOLED panel, which remains unchanged from the Note 4, but Samsung has managed toreduce the overall footprint of the phone, it is shorter, thinner and narrower than the phone from last year. TheS6 andS6 Edge impressed us with the camera capabilities and on paper, the16MP rear camera shouldn’t disappoint as this is the same lens from the S6.
The Note 5 is launched before the iPhone this year – the Note 5 is already available from US carriers and then in stores on August 21st. long with the Note 5, Samsung also launched a larger version of the Galaxy S6 Edge, the S6 Edge+. Samsung has previously been here before with the S5 Plus which wasn’t larger than the standard S5 but was only faster, this time the S6 Edge+ is also larger at 5.7-inches.
