Sony’s new smart light will turn on the TV

Sony’s new smart light will turn on the TV

Sony does like to experiment with lighting technology and the latest model will actually be in production and this new product from Sony Japan is part of the Life Space UX project a team within Sony which makes light speakers, projectors and other lighting technology but this latest light is capable of taking out certain tasks as it connects to WiFi. It also has a number of sensors built in to make it aware of the surrounds, sensors for motion, temperature, humidity and luminance.

The ‘Multifunctional Light” as it’s called will be able to turn on the TV based on the presence of you and or the air conditioning, also act as room-to-room intercom. The speaker also houses other hardware – a microSD memory card, speakers, infrared sensors and a microphone.

The Sony light is coming to Japan only in the first half of this year, but hopefully it will come to other parts of the world soon after.
