Tesla activates the in car camera in new update

Tesla has released a new update for its cars which activates the cabin camera to be used for detecting whether or not the driver is paying attention when Autopilot is being used. Version 2021.4.15.11 mentions that the camera will be used to “detect and alert driver inattentiveness while Autopilot is engaged.”

Elon Musk did say a while ago that using cameras to detect whether or not a driver is paying attention would not be effective, however due to some drivers trying to trick Autopilot into thinking they are paying attention and therefore causing accidents Tesla is now needing to use the cabin camera to make sure drivers are paying attention.
