Ubiquiti launches new ENVR, a 3U UniFi Protect NVR capable of managing up to 210 cameras

Ubiquiti has long been accused of not taking the enterprise market very seriously, but with its recent product launches such as the new Dream Machine Pro Max, Enterprise Fortress Gateway and the upcoming UXG Enterprise - it does seem the company is taking a renewed interest in this space. The most recent product line to get this renewed enterprise interest is UniFi Protect, as the company has recently launched the Enterprise Network Video Recorder, or ENVR for short.

This new device has 16 hard drive bays, each capable of holding 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch SSDs or HDDs. Ubiquiti says the ENVR is capable of managing up tp 70 4K cameras, or 210 HD cameras or 140 2K cameras. You can of course have some of each, so that number will fluctuate, but the total number is impressive. If you need more, you could use Protect Vantage Point to merge a number of NVR devices together into the same interface.

Ubiquiti is also selling an add on bezel too, which might not be that necessary for a lot of installations. It does have an integrated 4.7-inch touchscreen which can be used to playback footage and check storage arrays. It also lets you lock the front of the NVR with a door latch. The Enterprise NVR Bezel retails for $299 in the US.

What also makes it an enterprise device is the addition of hot swappable PSUs and multiple network interfaces. The ENVR has two swappable 550W PSUs, two 1/10G SFP+ interfaces and one 1/2.5/5/10 GbE RJ45 port.

The new ENVR will be available for purchase in the US and Europe on 30th September. For the UK and Canada, no specific date has been shared, but it is "coming soon". Pricing is €2.218.80 / CA$2,674.00 / $1,999.00 / £1,918.80.
