Windows 10 10162 launches, third build in one week

This week has been a busy week for Windows Insiders, with three builds in one week, 10158 and 10159 now the latest from Microsoft is 10162. On Blogging Windows – the company posted some information on the new build.

Bug squashing

Windows 10 10159 included over 300 bug fixes and now 10162 has improved stability (which is much needed) improved battery life and boosted performance. This build is only for users in the Fast ring and Gabe Aul (General Manager Operating Systems Group and Data and Fundamentals team at Microsoft) has said that for users in the slow ring, the build is being considered.

“Build 10162 is another great one. In fact, out testing and internal telemetry metrics show it has better reliability, performance, battery life and compatibility than any Windows 10 Insider Preview build so far.”

Release

Windows 10 is now very close to a final release to the public, as we are now weeks away from July 29. The new operating system brings back the much loved Start menu from Windows 7, new ones such as Cortana and the replacement for Internet Explorer; Microsoft Edge. Other features such as deep Xbox integration and a deep focus on gaming with DirectX12 are included.
