Google has offered reward to man who took over Google.com

Google has offered reward to man who took over Google.com

A couple of weeks back, Sanmay Ved somehow managed to buy Google.com for $12/£8. Within a few minutes Google noticed the issue and promptly removed him as the owner and was refunded the cost of the domain. Now, following the mishap Google has offered Mr Ved a cash reward for spotting the issue.

This happened on September 29 and he noticed that Google.com was available to purchase for a meer $12/£8. After purchasing he got a email saying that he was the owner, but quickly after emails that said he couldn’t buy the domain as someone already owns it. Google’s security team offered Mr Ved a big bounty and he has given it to an Indian educational foundation, so Google then doubled the reward.
