Google is ending support for Glass Explorer Edition next year

Google Glass was released nearly 8 years ago now and in 2020, the Glass Explorer Edition will get its final software update. Glass Explorer Edition was the very first version of the wearable when it came out in 2012.

Google Glass was on sale for a while and even some retail stores were opened to show off the device, one in London opened. Glass retailed for over £1,000.

Now the first version is being dropped by Google. On February 25th 2020 the last update will be offered and the update will need to be installed otherwise Google Glass will stop working. Users have until February 25th 2022 to install the update.

This update applies only to Glass Explorer Edition devices. It does not affect Glass Enterprise Edition devices.
