Any upcoming new emoji are to be delayed by six months

Everyone loves new Emoji, it is one of the main reasons people update iOS – for new Emojis to send to people, but the people who look after the releases and new emoji icons is the Unicode Consortium and it has said that version 14 is to be delayed by around six months.

This means the new emoji will launch next year in March 2021, as apposed to September 2020.

Admittedly, there are a lot more pressing issues affecting everyone right now and Mark Davis who is the president of the Unicode Consortium said:

“This year we simply can’t commit to the same schedule we’ve adhered to in the past.”
