OnePlus confirms that it’ll launch a smartwatch in 2021

The smartwatch market is basically dominated by Apple at the moment, there are a selection of Wear OS watches from various manufacturers as well as what Samsung is doing with its Gear line, but one company missing from this market is OnePlus, and last week Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus tweeted that the company will be releasing its own in early 2021.

A few years ago in 2016, the company did reveal some early plans on a watch, but the project was abandoned as OnePlus wanted to focus on phones at that time. However it’ll be interesting to see what the company reveals next year and if it will be running Wear OS or not remains to be seen.
