Twitter’s Fleets ‘story mode’ is going away in August

Twitter has announced today that Fleets, it’s relatively new mode for ‘story like’ content that’s similar to offerings from Snapchat, WhatsApp, Facebook Instagram is going away in August.

Twitter announced Fleets back in November last year, with some mixed reactions. Some users liked it, some didn’t and it seems that the people that didn’t have shown Twitter that they don’t with not using it, as Twitter has said it is going away next month due to not enough people using it.

Come 3rd August, Fleets will be removed. The company said it hoped the the service would help new users “feel more comfortable joining the conversation on Twitter.”
