Apple launches repair program for iPhone 12 speaker issue

Late last week, Apple announced a new repair program for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro where the receiver could develop a fault and then subsequently not produce any sound. This issue, according to Apple is only affecting a “very small percentage” of users and does not affect any one using an iPhone 12 mini or iPhone 12 Pro Max.

This also affects quite a wide date range of models, with phones affected being manufactured between October 2020 and April 2021. The program is covering devices for up to two years since the initial purchase.

Learn more about the program here.

Once registered with the program, customers can book an appointment at a brick and mortar Apple store, use an Authorized Service Provider or use Apple’s postal service, whereby a pre-paid box is sent to your house and it can be sent to Apple.
