Lotus has now stopped production of the Elise, Exige and Evora

Lotus has now ended production of its iconic trio of models, the Elise, Exige and Evora, The first two have been around the longest, entering production around 20+ years ago and the final version of each model is to be kept in the Lotus heritage collection.

Lotus did announce special final editions earlier this year which were sold in limited numbers. Going forward, the company is going to focus on its new Emira model, which was announced in September.

“I would also like to convey enormous gratitude to all the customers of the Elise, Exige and Evora over the last 26 years for their passion, enthusiasm and support”

Matt Windle – Lotus boss

The Elise was announced back in 1996 and so far, 35,124 examples have been made. The Elise helped form the base for the iconic Tesla Roadster and the Vauxhall VX220.
