Geely, the parent company behind the likes of Lotus, Volvo, Polestar and LEVC has launched its own brand in the UK today, with its first model being the EX5 - a medium sized electric SUV. However, while the company has only just launched here, it isn't starting things slowly - with 25 franchised dealerships already open in the UK, with a further 25 to arrive by the end of the year.
The EX5 is an all electric SUV offering up to 267 miles of range from its 60.2kWh battery pack. Its capable of 160kW DC charging and features an eight year warranty.

By the end of 2026, Geely is suggesting that 100 locations will be open in the UK, with partners such as Sytner, Glyn Hopkin, greenhous, Cars2 and many more signed on so far.
The company also wants to have 1,000 dealerships and service centres open in the next five years, with expansion plans in Germany, Poland and other areas of Europe to follow.
