Toyota has put the new Corolla on sale in the UK this week, with prices starting from £29,610. Rather than a full major redesign, this is more of a mid-life refresh for 2023. Toyota have refreshed the engines, trim levels and the included technology. The official order books opened this week on 24th August and will be built in the UK.

Corolla’s built in the UK will only be available as a hybrid, in either a hatchback or a Touring Sports estate. This new refresh comes after the new Corolla was launched back in 2018 and brought the car back to the UK after many years not being offered here. The Corolla goes head to head with other similar cars, such as the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus.

For the 2023 Corolla, Toyota has added the latest infotainment system to the car, with a large 10.5-inch touchscreen. For the driver, there is a 12.3-inch screen for the instruments. Inside, there are new graphics for the screens, new materials as well as LED headlights, dual-zone automatic air conditioning, reversing camera and heated front seats.

Every version of the new Corolla will come with hybrid as standard. This is available with two engines, either a 1.8-litre or 2.0-litre petrol engine, with 138bhp or 193bhp respectively. CO2 emissions havent changed, with 102g/km for the smaller engine and 107g/km for the larger engine.

The new Toyota Corolla is on sale now in the UK, with prices starting at £29,610 for the entry level Icon and up to £32,800 foe the Excel. Sadly, Toyota is not bringing the brand new 295bhp GR Corolla to the UK.
