Amazon now has 150 million Prime members

In the past week, Apple released its earnings and had an amazing Q4 quarter, as did Tesla and now Amazon has some subscriber news regarding Prime, its subscription service which offers Prime Video, free one day delivery and much much more.

Amazon Prime now has 150 million members, worldwide. Assuming all 150 million people pay the $119 yearly fee, that’s $30 billion a year, just from Prime. Back in 2018 Amazon said they had achieved 100 million Prime members.

“We’ve made Prime delivery faster — the number of items delivered to U.S. customers with Prime’s free one-day and same-day delivery more than quadrupled this quarter compared to last year. Members now have free two-hour grocery delivery from Amazon Fresh and Whole Foods Market in more than 2,000 U.S. cities and towns”

Jeff Bezos – Amazon CEO

Amazon has also said that Prime members have also watched more TV shows and movies on Prime Video in the last year, this might have been helped by the fact that some Premier League matches here in the UK, were only on Prime.

Amazon earnings

In Q4, Amazon had $87.4 billion in revenue which is a 21% increase over last year. Profits increased by 8% from last year, now at $3.3 billion.
