The humble Volkswagen Caddy van is due to receive a major facelift when it arrives this summer. The existing fourth generation is based on the Volkswagen MQB platform, which also underpins things like the Audi A3, Cupra Formentor and Seat León, among many others. At the same time, the latest Transit Connect is also based on the same platform, as part of the ongoing relationship between Ford and Volkswagen. This has resulted in things like the latest Volkswagen Transporter and Amarok using a Ford platform and the Explorer and Capri using a VW platfoirm.
However, Volkswagen is due to release an updated version, with a major redesign. The supplied photographs is all we have and were released at the end of March and VW is due to release images of the interior, which they say contain "significant changes." These changes are likely going to bring the Caddy more inline with the rest of the car and van lineup from VW, with possibly a larger screen running the latest operating system the company uses.
The outside meanwhile hasn't changed a whole lot, with small design updates to the bumper, alloy wheels, new colours options and more. This update is pretty important for VW, as the Caddy was the brand's most popular van in 2025.
VW will offer the updated Caddy with a multitude of powertrain options, including petrol, diesel or as an eHybrid. They'll also be two wheelbases to chose from and passenger variants too with five or seven seats.
Volkswagen will release more information regarding pricing and the images of the interior in the middle of this year.
