Apple has today announced the all new iPad 10th generation, with an all new design similar to the iPad Air, but in some bright colours including blue, pink, yellow and silver. Inside, Apple has fitted the A14 Bionic chip from the iPhone 12 in 2020 and now featuring Touch ID.

Design wise, Apple has made the iPad look like the iPad Air, with a larger 10.9-inch Liquid Retina display and Touch ID moved from the now removed home button to the side button, just like the iPad Air and iPad mini. For the first time on an iPad, Apple has also moved the Ultra Wide 12MP front-facing camera to the side of the iPad, which will make video calling much better.

Apple is also only allowing support for the first-generation Apple Pencil, despite the iPad now supporting USB-C and the Apple Pencil only being Lightning. To combat this, Apple is saying that a new dongle is required, which is an adaptor which converts USB-C to Lightning.

The new iPad 10th generation is available to order from today and will be in stores and shipping out to customers next week, on 26th October. Prices start from £499 in the UK and $449 in the US.
