Asus announces new 4th generation Chromebox

Asus announces new 4th generation Chromebox

Asus has recently announced its all new Chromebox 4, a desktop PC box that runs Google’s Chrome OS, something which is more typically found on Chromebooks etc. The new Chromebox is visually, very simile to the outgoing model but the real change here is on the inside, with the move from 8th generation Intel processors to 10th generation.

The Chromebox 4 is available with an Intel Celeron 5205U, i3-10110U, an i5-10210U, or an i7-10510U. The RAM can also be specified too, it does come with 4GB DDR4 but it can be specced up to 8GB. Internal storage is SSD based as Chrome OS doesn’t need much space, the maximum is 256GB.

In terms of expansion and ports, the Chromebox 4 has two HDMI 2.0 ports, three USB 3.2 Type A ports on the rear and two on the front. One USB-C 3.2 port is on the back too. Gigabit ethernet and 802.11ax WiFi are both supported too.

The Chromebox 4 will be available in the US this December, with prices starting at $289. As of writing, availability in the UK and other countries is yet to be confirmed, we have reached out to Asus for any comment on this and will update this post if we hear back.
