Beats discontinues Powerbeats, Solo Pro, and EP

Beats this week has culled a handful of products from its line up, including the Powerbeats, Beats Solo Pro and the Beats EP.

The Beats Solo Pro are on ear headphones and were introduced in 2019, with ANC, a Lightning port and the folding mechanism for a way to turn on and off the headphones.

Powerbeats were introduced last year and replaced the older Powerbeats 3, with a design similar to the Powerbeats Pro, the more premium wireless model but had a small wire between the ear pieces.

Finally, Beats EP – these were the oldest product discontinued. They were launched back in 2016 and were a simple on the ear headphone, with no smart features or noise cancelling and featured a legacy 3.5mm jack, plus build in mic in the cable.

This change could be Beats wishing to discontinue its product lineup, or make room for more offerings.
