BMW has temporarily stopped including touchscreens on some models

Due to the ongoing chip shortages, BMW has temporarily stopped including touchscreens on some models and gone back to the iDrive controls.

This change is affecting the 3 Series, X5, X6, X7 and Z4. Any new models produced going forward will feature the the older iDrive controller for navigation. BMW is giving customers $500 in credit for those who receive such models, labelled “Deletion of Touchscreen.”
