Chery is sure making waves in the UK car market over the past 18 months, having launched Omoda in August 2024, Jaecoo in January 2025 and then the Chery brand itself in summer 2025. Now, another one of its brands will be launching in the UK soon, with Lepas.
Chery has already achieved impressive sales figures too, with the Jaecoo J7 coming second in the January registrations, only just behind the Kia Sportage which has been near the top of the sales charts for quite a while.
Lepas will be sharing more information in the next few weeks about the cars it plans to launch here, but the brand already has the Lepas L4, L8 and L6 models. The header image is the Lepas L6. The Lepas L8 is essentially a re-badged and reworked second generation Chery Tiggo 8. The Tiggo 8 we get in the UK currently is sold as the Tiggo 8 Plus II in China.
Not much is known about the L6 and L4, but the L8 uses a Super Hybrid system found in the Chery vehicles, with a pure EV range of 107km (66.5 miles). Lepas UK expect to launch the first model for the UK in Q3 2026.
