Despite the rumours, Apple Watch Series 7 does work with existing bands

Leading up to the Apple event on Tuesday, many rumours suggested the Apple Watch Series 7 design would be so different that existing bands would not be compatible and while the new watch is later, now available in 41mm and 45mm – Apple has confirmed that it will be compatible with existing bands, dating back to the first generation in 2015.

The Series 7 has softer rounded corners with a larger edge to edge display and the display borders are 40% smaller than with the Series 6. This means 38mm and 40mm bands work with the 41mm Apple Watch and 42mm and 44mm will work with the 45mm Apple Watch.
