Due to COVID-19 – Overall PC shipments are down

In a report from Canalys, they have estimated that in the first quarter of this year overall PC shipments have declined by eight percent, when compared year-over-year. Due to the coronavirus, a lot of factories in China stayed shut while a lot of people were quarantined.

However due to a short burst of demand, sales of PCs are up – this was due to employees buying laptops for remote workers and parents purchasing them for when kids need to learn from home. But this is a small amount and is not expired to last.

In overall shipments, Apple dropped by twenty one percent in Q1 2020, when compared to 2019 and GP and Acer dropped by ten percent. Lenovo dropped by over four percent, but shipments from Dell increased by over one percent.
